Emilio de la Morena AW15

Emilio de la Morena's shows on tuesday, the last day of London Fashion Week, was different from what we have seen in prior season. The designer maintains a strong hold on evening wear each season.

This time we could spot his signature sexy, chic cocktail dresses again, the fit of the dresses remained impeccably slender and he is still tailoring to the female form. The collection is sensual and womanly with flashes of metallic and sumptuous fabrics. He used dark and strong colours such as burgundy, navy, black and metallic green.

Emilio is by nature an intellectual designer, whose passion lies in exploring new processes and ways of putting clothes together. This season, here was a fair amount of variety in silhouettes. The models were walking to electro tunes which made clear that the short, flared looks are going be popular with young ladies who have a jam-packed party schedule-but the very best looks here had a more sophisticated mien, and longer hemlines. I loved the midi dresses in gold and green metallic with velvet appliqué. However, most of the garments were mixed and you can find elements of disruption like the Bodycon dresses married metallics with velvet. Attention to detail is key.

Congrats to the Spanish artisan Emilio De la Morena, congrats to the man with the velvet touch! It was nice to see he’s having some fun in creating something new. This collection is for a strong woman that is not afraid to stand out and that likes to express the many layers of her character. It is basic but playful, powerful and very grown up at the same time, simply Ready-to-Wear!
