Tea at the Lowry

Over the Summer I have been experiencing what Manchester has to offer when it comes to Afternoon Tea, the Lowry Hotel situated in the heart of the city centre was on my to do-list and I can happily say, I finally got round to making a reservation.

So what you need to know is this is a 5* hotel and you really feel that when it comes to the service. The tables are laid with white linen spreads, fresh flowers around the restaurant and the humming of pleasant chatter sort of fills the room on arrival.

Me and my sister were served almost immediately – out comes this gorgeous platter of fresh sandwiches, succulent cakes and steaming hot tea. I think the overall atmosphere of the Lowry Hotel creates a lovely ambiance in the room, everything is so relaxed, there’s no blaring music it’s just nice and chilled out. The sort of place you could sit for hours and just talk, talk, eat and talk some more. The restaurant overlooks the canal so there’s also a lovely view!

The food is really nice and they also cater for specific dietary requirements if you let them know in advance. Traditional afternoon tea will cost £22.50 and with Champagne £33 per person. Afternoon tea here is certainly one of my favourite spots. If you happen to stay longer there is also a fabulous new spa which if I remember correctly opened up a few months back.  In the meantime, you can feast your eyes on these delectable yummy delights…more information can also be found on the Lowry Hotel website.
