M&S bring LFW to Manchester

Yesterday saw the Marks and Spencer store on Market Street in Manchestertransform its ground floor into a fully fledged catwalk – the music was booming and Northern fashionistas were in for a treat!

For the first time M&S and British Fashion Council took the glitz and glam of London Fashion week outside the capital.  M&S Style Director, Belinda Earl took to the stage welcoming a packed crowd and unveiling the exclusive SS15 collection.  The presentation celebrated the best of British, homing in on uniquely British fabrics and then on to the catwalk.

Amongst some of my favourites, pale yellows and a fusion of relaxed tailored subtle florals.  The prints were bold and embodied summer.

Then into the blue, elevating the casual laid back look perfect for a relaxed evening out.

In true M&S style, monochrome tailored suits, simple and elegant, perfect for day/work wear.  At the same time the SS15 collection oozed femininity – the dress below paired up contrasting coral pinks, nude heels, lace pencil skirt and shirt.  The outfit layered similar colours together which absolutely complimented each other.  The SS15 collection will trickle its way into the store by the 26th March.

Marks and Spencer along with the BFC have obviously paved the way for more exciting events like this to finally take place in Manchester.  Here's to many more in the near future!
