5* luxury: Zabeel Saray Dubai

Last month I visited the city of Dubai in the United Arab Emirates, a far cry from rainy Manchester. Part of travelling is definitely the thrill of knowing your end destination – I had booked to stay with Jumeriah Zabeel Sara – the 5* hotel and spa resort situated on the palm overlooking the ocean.

This beautiful resort is truly a jewel in the crown with it's award winning Talise Ottomon Spa. Winner of multiple awards including The World Travel Awards ‘UAE's Leading Spa Resort’ in 2014 three years running, ‘Best Luxury Hotel Spa’ in the Luxury Spa Awards and the 'Best Spa' category in the Condé Nast Traveller Middle East Readers’ Choice Awards 2013. And recently awarded as ‘Most Unique Treatment – Snow Room’ category in Condé Nast Johansens 2015. Talise Ottoman Spa is an experience like no other and I couldn't wait to experience it for myself.

Check out the video below for some highlights at the Talise Ottoman Spa.

On arrival the interior of the hotel was breathtaking, as was the room. We stayed on the 6th floor within the executive suites – trust me, we needed the space with two crazy kids! The rooms were beautiful, incredibly decedent and lavish in design. It split off into living space area, a master bedroom, two bathroom and the view of the seaside overlooking the skyline.

It was unlike anything I have seen before – just extraordinary. After we landed I whisked myself off to the spa. I was booked in for a cocoon massage, especially tailored for pregnant women. The spa itself is exquisite in design – most definitely one of the most opulent spas I have ever visited. After being taken into a dimly lit beautifully scented waiting room, I was given refreshing lemon water, dates and nuts.

The sound of relaxing water in the background and ambient music – it was amazing, and this was even before the treatment. My therapist must have had magic fingers, applying the perfect amount of pressure and allowing me to completely relax and unwind. After the treatment we were taken into another large room, more nibbles and refreshing tea awaited us after which I explored the spa more.  There was a swimming pool, sauna, hamam and so much more to experience at the Talise Ottoman Spa – its a wonder how it hasn't racked up more awards in the 'pampering department'.

There is so much to see in Dubai, from the tallest building in the world, to the dazzling gold souk on Khalid Bin Waleed Road - bartering is a must! Get a taste of royalty and be treated like a VVIP.  Book in a time to see the Burj Al Arab for a spot of tea or an evening meal.  If your a shopaholic like me, you will be pleased to know that shopping malls close in the early hours of the morning so you can literally shop till you drop.

I visited the Dubai Mall, it's huge – a vast array of shops, dozens of places to eat and drink.  You literally need to set a whole day aside to really experience the shopping experience in Dubai.  Most importantly for me is having a genuinely 5* stay and Zabeel Saray certainly scored incredibly highly in my books.  You can find out more here and if you plan on staying, planning a visit to the wonderful spa must be on your check-list.  Happy holiday!
