Dralion: The Review

The exhilarating, heart-stopping, edge of your seat performance from Cirque Du Soleil's Dralion came to Manchester last night.  What was in store? Well, with this being the first ever UK arena tour, performances were on a much bigger and grander scale.

Fusing a 3,000 year old tradition of ancient Chinese acrobatics with a modern multi-disciplinary twist thanks to Cirque Du Soleil. 'Dralion' draws its inspiration from Eastern philosophy and its never-ending quest for harmony between humans and nature.

Magnificent gravity defying acrobats included a performer balancing on 3 metre vertical stick, poised with absolute precision one handed. Multiple hoop jumpers, beautiful and theatrical dance performances and so much more gripped on lookers making this a not-to-miss show in Manchester this week. As well of the stunning performances, the live music was breathtaking and really added another dimension to the show.

Not for the faint-hearted this a thoroughly enjoyed evening, acrobatic stunts coupled with light humour and energy from the performers really transcended over the audience.

Dralion Artistic Director Mark Shaub said: “We are very excited to be bringing Dralion to Great Britain next spring. Many of our cast and crew have connections to Great Britain and are looking forward to presenting the show to audiences there. Dralion is a wonderful blend of amazing acrobatics, stunning choreography, live music with hilarious clowns. It’s a feast of colour and emotions that will surely appeal to British audiences”.
