Sam Smith: The review

The Albert Hall Manchester opened it's doors yesterday for a truly amazing artist. Sam Smith graced the beautiful venue with an equally beautiful and mesmerising voice.

It's no surprise that this was a sell out show. We took our spots in the VIP section, top floor of the Wesleyan Chapel and eagerly awaited for his arrival. The stage darkened, and the frenzied crowd erupted into madness as Sam Smith arrived on stage.

Singing from his debut album, In The Lonely Hour, he opened the show with his stunning track Nirvana. Other singles included Naughty Boy's La La, La, Disclosures breakthrough single 'Latch' and how could we forget the MOBO award winning track Stay with me.

Half way through the show Sam joked about his album saying that 'he's really a happy guy' referring to his emotionally charged singles.

If anything, the performance felt incredibly intimate, heart-felt and personal. He connected with the crowd and even paid tribute to the late Whitney Houston with his spin on 'How will I know' – if only we could download a copy!

This was a brilliant evening and a great atmosphere. Sam Smith will be back in Manchester in March 2015, we can't wait to see him again!
