The big breakfast healthy smoothie

We’ve all been told about the benefits of drinking a green smoothie every day, however there’s more to smoothies than just spinach and kale. Ingredients such as honey, cinnamon and even coffee which can help to boost our immune system, preventing us from catching nasty colds and becoming run down.
Walnuts are considered to be one of the healthiest nuts around, as they contain particular antioxidants which will help to prevent liver damage. They can also help to control your weight, make you feel fuller and help to prevent the formation of blood clots.
For a delicious walnut smoothie, combine ½ a frozen banana, ½ a cup of walnuts, 1 cup of almond milk, 1 tablespoon of cacao nibs, 1 teaspoon of vanilla and a handful of frozen raspberries into a blender and whizz it all up until smooth.
Cashews are high in calories, so best consumed in small amounts, however they are absolutely packed full of nutritional benefits, helping to manage cholesterol levels and providing your body with copper and zinc, which help to regulate growth and digestion.

Add a dash of cinnamon to any smoothie to add a tiny bit of heat and reap all of the healthy benefits.
Not only good for getting you out of bed in the morning, Coffee is one of the few natural substances which has been proven to aid fat burning. It can help to lower the risk of Parkinson’s disease and some forms of cancer.
So for a shot of energy in the morning, pour a cup of chilled brewed coffee into your blender, along with ½ a banana, a cup of Greek yoghurt, 2 teaspoons of honey or agave nectar, ½ a teaspoon of cinnamon, a dash of grated nutmeg and a handful of ice cubes.
Greek Yoghurt is packed full of protein, which helps you to feel fuller for longer, perfect for those mornings which seem to just drag on forever! Cacao (or Cocoa) is a welcome addition to anybody’s morning. To be told that chocolate is good for you is every girl’s dream! Cocoa encourages the production of happy hormones, serotonin and dopamine, which will no doubt get your day off to a great start!
